EQUIPMENT
The following equipment is required to participate in Concord-Carlisle Girls Youth Lacrosse: 
 
Field Player
1) Regulation Women's lacrosse stick:
2) Lacrosse Goggles
 Certified by SEI (eye protection for women's lacrosse) 
3) Molded Mouthguard
Must be visible color other than clear or white
 
Goalie
CCYL provides goalie equipment for each team.  The equipment includes the following:  helmet with face mask, separate throat protector, chest protector, abdominal and pelvic protection, goalie gloves, and leg padding on the shins and thighs. 
 
To ensure the safety of all players, only those with mouth guard and goggles will be permitted to play in practices and games.
 
Footwear will vary depending on playing surface (synthetic turf or natural grass) and field conditions.   Generally, molded sole "soccer" cleats are recommended for playing on grass, and turf shoes or sneakers are acceptable are recommended for playing on turf. In the Spring when the weather conditions are varied, molded "soccer" cleats keep feet dryer/warmer, whether on grass or turf.
 
No jewelry is allowed on the field – including earrings in newly pierced ears, watches + string bracelets. Officials will stop the game and require players to leave the field to remove jewelry. 
 
Note: Lacrosse equipment may be purchased at a local sports stores: Brine Sports in Concord, Hit The Net Sports in Acton, and Lacrosse Unlimited in Burlington/Wellesley.   The costs will vary depending on the quality of the equipment and brand.  Making the investment in an intermediate/advanced stick (versus a "beginner stick), can make it easier to master basic stick skills and allow the player to grow with her stick.
