What we are often asked

Q.  My player is new to lacrosse. Is this program appropriate for him/her?
A.  CCYL is designed to be a developmental program offering the same opportunities for those who have played before and those who are new.  Our coaches focus on teaching the fundamental skills and concepts of the game with practices that serve players of all skill levels.

Q.   Can my player play down a level to get a feel for the game?
A. For insurance and league participation reasons, you must register your child for participation according to school grade.

Q. Are there "practice only" players?
A.  We feel that playing in the games is the best (fun!) way to learn the rules/gain an understanding for the game/help the coaches understand what to work on in practices. Players should attend as many games as they are able.

Q. My players participates in multiple sports/activities, what about conflicts?
A. We believe young athletes should play as many sports as they want/can - conflicts are OK! Attending at least one practice per week and most games, allows for players to learn/strengthen their skills and become a good teammate.

Q.  BOYS: Why do I need to purchase my player a USA Lacrosse Membership?
A.  An annual USA Lacrosse membership is required for CCYL insurance purposes.
GIRLS are required to sign up for insurance through Founders Lacrosse League (FGLL)
